REVIEW: PIXI GLOW TONIC COLLECTION FROM PIXI BEAUTY

Pixi's Glow Tonic Range was sent to me during the right time and this collection has helped me a lot in my skin healing process fighting acne. This Glow Tonic range key ingredient is Glycolic Acid which has amazing benefits to the skin, especially for those with oily acne-prone skin. I wrote about Glycolic Acid and its benefits before. You can read it here: WHAT IS GLYCOLIC ACID AND WHAT IT DOES TO YOUR SKIN. This range consists of 4 types of products to complete a skincare regime. I'll list each product and my thoughts about it below. Keep on reading to know more.

Finally tried @pixibeauty's Glow Collection for the first time. The Glow Collection consists of: ✨ Glow Tonic Cleansing Gel ✨ Glow Tonic ✨ Glow Tonic Serum ✨ pHenomenal Gel ✨ On-The-Glow Moisturizer All of these products except for the pHenomenal gel is based with Glycolic Acid. A holy grail ingredient to fight acne. Which came in the right timing! I'm still figuring out how to combine these in my routine but most of you know that I've been using the Glow Tonic for ages now. . Anyhow, I haven't come with a review as I've just started to try them. I'll share my thoughts on these in my beauty account @cikcit.beautyaddict and also my blog soon once I have my final thoughts on them. Overall I can't wait to see what this set does as their Glow Tonic has worked so good for me. . If you all are a bit confused what Glycolic Acid actually does, I published a blogpost on this as I was looking up on it too. MY THOUGHTS

Love this, its a light clear gel that comes out very easily from the tube. It doesn't have much scent to it nor it produces much foam while applying as well. I usually use it for my morning routine on days I get a new pimple. Its main ingredients are glycolic acid, horse chestnut extract, aloe and ginseng which consist of great ingredients to help heal and protect the skin. It also contains Aloe which also contains anti-inflammatory properties. I haven't experienced any dryness to the skin or even stings using this cleanser. Only sometimes I feel that it doesn't cleanse well enough. I prefer using this cleanser after an oil cleanser in the morning.

MY THOUGHTS
This is a holy grail product. If you've been following me on social media, I've raved about the Glow Tonic for so long. I've have used bottles of this for over years which not only me, but also most beauty gurus have recommended this toner. Pixi's Glow Tonic is an award-winning product that is considered one of the best exfoliating toners in the market. I used to use it with a cotton pad but nowadays I just live dapping the tonner in with my palms. Feels refreshing and great! I could use this every day but I use a lot of exfoliating products so I use it rotating with other toners each day.
The Glow Tonic contains anti-inflammatory ingredients which explain why it gentle to most skin types. I love the scent and the freshness it gives after usage. What I could say after bottles of usage of the Glow Tonic, it does its job. It definitely helps in getting great and healthy skin.

I used face oil on and off before I had a major breakout and when I had a breakout I completely stopped. One of the things I regret in my skincare history is not using face oil because I thought oil would just clog pores but actually it helps a lot in healing the skin. I started to use face oils again after I came across an article saying that face oils actually helps to control excess oil from producing on your face which leads the skin to always stay hydrated. My skin type is oily combination so I dare not to use it in the day, so I started to try it in my night routine after my acne healed and left with scars. I started using @pixibeauty's Rose Oil Blend at first as it aims to stregthen the skin barrier and it worked amazingly. Now I'm only going into this Glow Tonic Serum which is part of Pixi's Glow range. It doesn't state that this is an oil but it is rather oily but the consistency is thick, probably that's why it's called a serum. I'm currently using this rotatingly with Pixi's Rose Oil blend mixed with my moisturizer at night. Honestly it works amazing, I wake up feeling my skin super moist but ain't oily at all. It's like I grew new skin overnight. Give me some more time using this and I'll let you all know my thoughts on this. . #PixiBeauty #PixiSkinTreats . #CikcitsSkinCare #CikcitsSkincareJournal

3. Glow Tonic Serum
This lightweight serum gently exfoliates, hydrates and nourishes

How To-Apply
•Massage 2-3 drops onto cleansed, toned skin before moisturizer.

Price: RM120
Purchase: sephora.my
Volume: 30 ml / 1.01 fl.oz
Ingredients:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Glycerin, Glycolic Acid, Polysorbate 20, Ammonium Hydroxide, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Arginine, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Parfum/Fragrance, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ascorbic Acid, Ascorbyl Palmitate, Retinyl Palmitate, Triethanolamine, Cyclohexasiloxane, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Lecithin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sucrose, Xanthan Gum, BHT, Disodium EDTA.

MY THOUGHTS
This has to be one of my first serums focusing on Glycolic Acid from as long as I could remember. I depended much on the Glow Tonic before to get a portion of Glycolic Acid for my skin. Now with a boost of Glycolic Acid from their serum as well has surely improved my skin condition. However, this Glow Tonic is also considered as an exfoliating agent so I don't use it every day. I like to use it on nights when my skin feels imbalanced with new acne. On normal nights I prefer using Pixi Rose Oil Blend as it has a very calming scent and I wake up with very supple skin. The Glow Tonic also gives a nice moisturized face in the morning but I prefer my oil better.
The serum is a clear serum with a rather slightly thick consistency. It somehow very sticky on your hands but it doesn't give much of an oily effect once applied to the skin. I notice that it ables to soothe down the growth of acne especially the pain of it.

pHenomenal Gel from @pixibeauty sounds phenomenal right? 😝 But does it live up to the name it claims? I've been using it on and off for the past few months but used it the most when I was recovering my acne problem. I'm just left with like a quater of the product to still use up. This pHenomenal gel is part of Pixi's Glow Tonic range and it's a moisturizer to balance and neautralize the skin pH. Makes sense that it part of the Glow Tonic range as the Glycolic Acid works as an exfoliater which only this product does not contain in the range. It instead contains Citric Acid which helps to adjust the acidity of the skin. At first I thought this wasn't suitable for me because I kept breaking out, but turns out it actually helped my skin healed faster from past acne. I'm no longer using this as my daily moisterizer because my acne has healed, but I do use it on certain times, especially when I feel my skin is rather sensitive on that day, or if I tried a new product. Overall, it's a great product to try out, highly recommend for those dealing with acne too. . #PixiBeauty #PixiBeautyMY #SkinTreats .

4. PHnononel Gel
Product Details

Aloe vera - soothing & calming
Citric acid - balances & brightens

How To-Apply
Use a coin size amount daily after cleansing and toning or as needed.

Price: RM120
Purchase: sephora.my
Volume: 50ml
Ingredients:
Aqua/water/eau, glycerin, glycereth-26, betaine, butylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate, isododecane, sodium acrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, cetyl ethylhexanoate, citric acid, tocopheryl acetate, ascorbic acid, aloe barbadensis leaf extract, cucumis sativus (cucumber) fruit extract, retinyl palmitate, aesculus hippocastanum (horse chestnut) extract, camellia sinensis leaf extract, panax ginseng root extract, vaccinium angustifolium (blueberry) fruit extract, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) extract, tocopherol, isohexadecane, trehalose, panthenol, polysorbate 80, ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/vp copolymer, phenoxyethanol, allantoin, ethylhexylglycerin, xanthan gum, butylene glycol, disodium edta.

MY THOUGHTS
This is my go-to moisturizer when I feel I need a break for my skin now. I'm only left with a tiny bit before I completely finish the tube. This product is the only product within the Glow Tonic range that does not contain glycolic acid. Instead, it contains citric acid which is supposed to help balance and neutralize the skin pH level.
The pHenomonel gel sounds phenomenal but somehow I don't really like it for everyday use. It has a light thick texture with a milky color that doesn't create a sticky effect on the skin after application. But I do notice it does help calm the skin especially if I feel my skin ain't feeling that good on a certain day.

Diisostearyl Malate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Triethylhexanoin, Ceresin, Ozokerite, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, HDI/Trimethylol Hexyllactone Crosspolymer, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ricinus Communis (Castor) Seed Oil, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/ Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl DimerDilinoleate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ergosterol, Caffeine, Ascorbic Acid, Retinyl Palmitate, Glycolic Acid, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Aesculus Hippocastanum (Horse Chestnut) Extract, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Hydrogenated Castor Oil Isostearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycerin, Phenoxyethanol, Tocopherol, Aqua/Water/Eau, Butylene Glycol, Silica, CI 77891 (Titanium Dioxide), CI 77491, CI 77492 (Iron Oxides).

MY THOUGHTS
Honestly, I haven't even started using it again. I just feel it very weird as a moisturizer. The texture is mainly the cause as it's in a stick form, it rather dense and mud like. Not too much of my liking but the ingredients used are holding me back to store it away forever. There may be a day when I may need this moisturizer and find great use to it. For now, let me finish up all the moisturizers I still have left.

Overall, I highly recommend the Glow Tonic range for those struggling with acne. I used to have cyst acne and it got better within time with the help of this range. I'm not saying I depended on this range fully but it did help but it took a lot of time. I highly suggest the Glow Tonic and the Glow Serum help out on exfoliating. These are certainly the best products within this range and is worth every penny. Like most Pixi products I have reviewed, they never much disappoint me especially with it's nice packaging. Simple with a strike of colors.
