LAUNCH OF PROGRAM MENTOR WANITA CUKUP BERANI BY MAGGI

I was invited to attend Maggi's Launch of a new women empowerment program called MENTOR WANITA CUKUP BERANI. If you missed out on this, the program is basically a mentor and mentee program where there will be rounds of selections through participation online. Throughout the launch, the people behind this program spoke on why they are conducting this program and why this will be a stepping stone for the participants to start being brave and move forward for themselves. I myself think that this should be a good opportunity for me too if I were to participate as well, as it is an interesting program, it's the right kind of boost I need for myself right now. Keep on reading to know more on this program.

MAGGI officially launched the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani that's a nationwide program organized in collaboration with Women Will by Google Malaysia. The program aims to support confidence enhancement, digital upskilling, cooking, and basic entrepreneurship skills.
The launch event was officiated by Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and Region Head of Nestle Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei; Geetha Balakrishna, Business Executive Officer of Maggi®, Nestlé (Malaysia) Berhad and Marc Woo, Country Head of Google Malaysia.

MAGGI, in partnership with Women Will by Google, rolled out the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani, which comprises a series of Online Workshop for women throughout Malaysia to improve their skills to become successful entrepreneurs.

Women Will is a Grow with Google program to create economic opportunities for women everywhere so that they can grow and succeed. The program aims to help women make the most of technology to build skills, and get inspired.

As of January 2020, Women Will is present in 44 countries today through Google Partners, volunteer-run Google Business Groups, and the company’s Grow with Google events. The program delivers online and offline training in those countries, in partnership with local NGOs and volunteer communities as well as private sector businesses.

In Malaysia, Women Will is helping women grow their confidence in using technology to grow their business - by educating them on content related to leadership, business acumen, communication, productivity, and also digital marketing. This is done through a series of Women Will workshops.

Speaking at the launch event, Juan Aranols said, “The Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani is an initiative which is close to my heart. As an advocate of diversity and inclusion, Nestlé has always been committed to empowering women and advancing gender equality both in business and in society. We embrace this within our dynamic culture every day. Embodying this spirit through Tak Kenal, Tak Cinta and bringing it to life through Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani, we are confident that Malaysian women can see the positives of trying – to take on new challenges, and to achieve their goals be it at home, the workplace or trying their hands at a new business venture.”

Geetha Balakrishna explains, “MAGGI®’s partnership with Women Will by Google Malaysia is significant – technology is an important tool to leverage on to open up economic opportunities especially for small businesses that lack skills and capital. Together with our 3 mentors, Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani will be supporting women across Malaysia via a series of online workshops focusing on building self-confidence, improving their business skills through digital upskilling, and of course, enhancing their cooking skills with MAGGI’s in-house Chef. What is more exciting is that our 3 mentors will eventually support 3 selected mentees beyond the workshop in a life-changing journey, guiding them in their chosen endeavors!

From there you can already feel how interesting this is going to be. Being a woman either a housewife or a career woman has it's own challenges either way. I myself find myself stuck in a situation where I'm in a safe spot and unable to push myself further. I'm just not bold enough to step ahead and I know that I'm not the only one who feels that way as to date, the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani Online Workshop has received an overwhelming response with more than 800 sign-ups.

The first series of the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani Online Workshop will kick start from September 1st to 3rd, followed by another series from Oct 20th to 22nd. Throughout the 3-day workshop, participants will be learning new skills which will enhance their knowledge and confidence. In its next phase, 3 selected women will be given an opportunity to be mentored by 3 successful personalities, who will not only inspire them but also guide them in their entrepreneurial journey.

The launch that was held at The Royale Chulan Damansara was also set to reveal the 3 mystery mentors which Maggi did not mention in the early stage of this program. Below are the selected Mentors:
