What is Huxley Oil Essence Essence Like Oil Like?

It's said to be a hybrid essence that mixes with oil which makes it one of a kind. Huxley describes it as an oil essence with an optimal balance of oil and essence containing prickly pear seed oil, energizing and revitalising skin.

What Huxley Claims On its Secret of Sahara Oil Essence

Refer huxley.co.kr

  • A new type of oil essence developed with the optimal formulation of oil and essence
  • Provides the skin fresh and smooth, silky feel like oil, but it is not greasy and absorbs faster than oil
  • It keeps the skin refreshed all day long.

Key Ingredients

Prickly Pear
Opuntia Ficus-Indica Stem Extract, Opuntia Ficus-Indica Seed Oil
Antioxidant, Strengthening, Immunity
The main star in this oil like essence is Prickly pear. It's a cactus that’s native to Mexico but Huxley claims to have theirs from the Sahara Dessert. This cactus is raved for its soothing and hydrating abilities that are said to have greater moisturising abilities than argan oil as the prickly pear has a higher content of linoleic acid. It's also claimed to have 400 times higher content of Vitamin E compared to olive oil.

Acai Berry
Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract
Antioxidant, Strengthening, Immunity
Acai berry is known to be rich in vitamin C and contains Vitamins A, B and E. Hence its raved as a super ingredient as all these vitamins included help nourishes the skin, maintains natural collagen production, fights cell-damaging free radicals and moisturizes the skin. It's also known to have copper which is considered an important element to maintain skin pigmentation and even out skin tone.

Camu Camu
Myrciaria Dubia Fruit Extract
Antioxidant
Camu camu is a small berry that possesses strong antioxidants when it's fully ripe. It's a very juicy berry but has a strong acidic flavour, which is why it’s rarely eaten in its natural state. Camu camu is known for its antioxidant content and ability to fight damaging free radicals. However, this ingredient is highly sensitive and easily oxidized due to its high content of Vitamin C.

Quinoa
Chenopodium Quinoa Seed Extract
Hydration, Nourishment Supply
Quinoa extracts from quinoa seeds have shown their ability to moisturize the skin and hair, as well as protect against free radicals. Chenopodium quinoa seed extract contains vitamin C and E, and a good source of essential amino acids.

My Thoughts on Huxley Oil Essence

I've been using this for 2 weeks and honestly, I can't get enough. No wonder many have raved about this product. Honestly, I feel that Huxley is one of the few Korean brands that put effort into catering their international customers as they provide English descriptions for their brand and it's easily accessible too.

Ingredients
Looking into Huxley's Secret of Sahara Oil Essence ingredients it contains amazing ingredients that focus on giving ample hydration to the skin. It does contain fragrance though but other than that, the ingredients insides are rated as good ingredients with low rated comedogenicity.  Their main star ingredients such as Prickly Pear, Acai Berry, Camu-Camu are one of the best ingredients in skincare and highly raved among skincare enthusiast.

Packaging
I can't get enough of Huxley's packaging, they portray such a classic simple and neat packaging which every minimalist would love to display. The Huxley Scent Of Sahara Oil Essence Essence-like, Oil-like comes in a frosted glass with a simple white label. Anyhow, holding it feels so luxurious. Thank goodness the dropper also works well.

Texture
It's a milky light essence with a very lightweight texture. It's not watery, the viscosity of it is a bit thick but it absorbs very well into the skin without putting in much effort. Af first you'll be able to feel the oil soothing into the skin, but when the essence has completely sunk in the skin, you'll see no signs of oil and shine on the face, and no sticky feeling too. The oil seems to be gone completely leaving the skin smooth an plump.

Scent-Wise
Huxley claims the scent to be a signature fragrance in collaboration with LUZI, a 90-year-old Swiss fragrance company which they created the fragrance inspired by nature spring garden. I've read that a few have problems with the strong scent it holds, but to me, the scent is truly relaxing. I personally love it. In fact, I can't get enough as it smells so fresh.

Experience
As I mentioned above, I used Huxley's Essence-like Oil for 2 weeks and I couldn't get enough. For the first week, I tried it on its own without its additional products in the set that I received. I wanted to experience first how this Oil like Essence would work on my skin. Looking into the results, it shows promising signs. I'll get into that below. The 2nd week, I tried adding the other products in my skincare routine to see how it reacted to my skin. I didn't find it quite pleasing though. Keep reading below to know more about this.

Overall Thoughts
I can't get enough! Using this Huxley Oil Essence surely doesn't last long if you use it every day for AM and PM routine. I've been using it for 2 weeks and I'm left with half bottle. Probably because I used 1 and a half dropper for each time use. I don't feel satisfied with just a few drops of this essence for one usage as it's quite thick so the small amount won't really be able to cover the whole face if you're patting it in with your palms. Honestly, one bottle of this won't even last a month I figure.

Before & After Using Huxley Oil Essence Essence-like, Oil-like

I've tried this oil like essence alone for a week and below is the result of my skin.

Other Products From Huxley Secret of Sahara Set

I was sent the Huxley Oil Essence within a set of these products below. Honestly, I've had hard time trying to implement the rest of the products in my routine as I feel the oil essence is sufficient enough to use in a routine. However, I did have a few tries with the products below and these are my thoughts on them.

As I mentioned above, the first week I only used Huxley Secret Of Sahara Oil Essence, Essence-like, Oil-like, then the second week I only started implementing the other products in this set.

1. Huxley Essence Grab Water

Huxley Grab Water Review

Purpose:
 Hydrating

Key Ingredients: Sahara Prickly Seed Oil, Hyaluronic Acid, Ceramide
How To Use: To be used after applying essence
My Thoughts:

This is also an essence, compared to the Oil Essence, Huxley's Grab Water is lighter and slightly watery. The instructions are to use this after essence but the texture of this is lighter than the oil essence, so basically the rule is that the lighter ones come first right? So that's how I've been applying. I only used this Grab Water for 2 days though and I saw pimples popping out so I stopped. The ingredient list looks so good so I'm not sure if this is the reason as I've been applying the products one by one each day. I'm not gonna give up on this yet, I'll try this again in the future and see how it works.

2. Huxley Oil Light And More

Huxley Oil Light and More Review

Purpose:

Adding Moisture

Key Ingredients: Sunflower Oil, Squalane, Jojoba Oil
How To Use: To blended with moisturiser
My Thoughts:

My review for Huxley Secret of Sahara Oil Light and More is that this is amazing! I can't get enough. I implemented this into my day and night routine after I quit using the Grab Water. Unlike Huxley's Oil Essence and Grab Water, this is and Oil. It's to be mixed with moisturiser on a 1:1 ratio. Usually, oils are very sticky after applying, but this one is not. It's like there wasn't any oil at all. Oils are very good to balance our skin natural oils which also prevents breakouts. I've been using oils during my days with breakout and it's like a magic potion but some of them are really oily making it uncomfortable but this one is so far from that. I'm almost out of this tiny bottle, which makes me have no hesitation in getting the full bottle soon.

3. Huxley Essence Brightly Ever After

Huxley Brightly Ever After Review

Purpose:
 Brightening

Key Ingredients: Prickly Pear Seed Oil, Niacinamide, Bisabolol, Odeetox
How To Use: Used after toner
My Thoughts:

Huxley's Brightly Ever After is also an essence which is advised to be used after toning. However I feel like this essence is thicker than the grab water and oil essence though. I didn't use this yet as I feel like my skin is already applying too much acid on. I'm saving this for later and see how it works alone. Looking into the ingredients list, it's whitening agents are great superstars which my skin is already familiar with. So I figure that this might suite well with my skin but still I can never be so sure unless I truly try it.

4. Huxley Mask Glow And Brightness

An interesting milky mask which is one of Huxley's signature products. Read my full review on this mask here: Review: Huxley Mask Secret Of Sahara Glow And Brightness
