My Thoughts on Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

I've heard about Cetaphil for the longest time but I never really tried it even though it's a really popular drugstore brand. My sister uses this brand and I've seen her used it for the longest time so it indeed sparked some interest in me. Now I finally tried this popular drugstore brand and this is my review for Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Ingredients
Looking into the full list of ingredients for Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser, it consists of only 8 ingredients. Honestly, this is one of the first INCI lists I've seen without an active, it's mainly emollients and preservatives which makes it less pleasing to me. It also contains alcohol but it's suitable for sensitive skin? But I guess since the formulation is approved by dermatologists, so it should be good.

Packaging
It comes in a plastic tube with a flip cap, but sometimes I confuse it with body wash since it's not shaped in a sleek tube-like cleanser usually do. The packaging works just fine but it does feel a bit bulky for me.

Texture
It's a cloudy gel form. The texture is like water and completely absorbs once rubbed in.

Scent-Wise
It has minimal to no scent at all

Experience
When I read that it can be used without water too I didn't quite believe it until I tried it for the first time. The texture is like water and is gone within a few seconds when rubbed in. However, I don't feel comfortable cleaning without water, it just doesn't feel cleansed. So I usually damp my face before applying this cleanser to cleanse my face. I did not experience and any irritations or bad reactions while and after using this cleanser. But, this cleanser doesn't seem to cleanse well enough, especially with sunscreen.

Overall Thoughts
I kinda get why this cleanser is a popular choice, firstly it's easily available, online and offline. Secondly, it is gentle and would suit many skin types. However, I feel like this is too gentle for me, and I'm so used to having actives in my cleansers that I feel like this cleanser isn't complete. I tried a quarter of it before I passed it to my sister who was indeed glad to receive her favourite brand.
