What is Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-up Cream?

Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-up Cream is a daily brightening & hydrating tone-up cream. Innisfree claims this cream to have a lightweight formulation with Jeju Cherry Blossom leaf extracts and naturally-derived Betaine that leaves a natural, glow after application.  Innisfree also mentions that their Jeju Cherry Blossoms leaves are responsibly sourced from the island of Jeju, South Korea. Leaves are harvested and dried, after which they are aged for three weeks in lava seawater at an optimal temperature of 3.9°C. To capture full benefits, the leaves are dried again. After removing sea salts, leaves are finally squeezed for a potent extract that helps boosts skin radiance for a glowing, clear complexion.

What Innisfree Claims on Its Cherry Blossom Tone-up Cream

3. Hydrating power of naturally-derived betaine
4. Creates a barrier to prevent dehydration and boost skin moisture

Ingredients
Looking into the full list of ingredients for Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-up Cream, its main ingredients are Prunus Yedoensis Leaf Extract (Cherry Blossom), Betaine and Niacinamide. This tone up cream also contains other great ingredients such as Propanediol, Glycerin, Vitamin E and also Soybean Oil. Other than that, the cream mostly contains viscosity controlling and emollient ingredients. This cream also contains an artificial fragrance.

Packaging
It comes in a sleek fully covered pink plastic tube with a screw cap. The size is small so it makes it easy to carry it around in your makeup pouch. The design is also neat with English and Korean labels. The packaging tube I'm using now, I thought at first is probably their travel size, as its original size comes in a pink jar. However, I came to know that their the Cherry Blosson Tone Up Cream in the jar is also 50ml. So I think the one I have here in a tube is their new and improved packaging which I feel is way much better than the jar.

Texture
The light pink cream does definitely seems lightweight when first applied but once rubbed in, the cream builds up and tend to create a white cast. It instantly tones up the skin but it doesn't easily absorb or spread evenly on the skin. It tends to give a slightly oily feel during and after application but is not that bad.

Scent-Wise
It has a very strong scent of cherry blossom I suppose. I'm not surprised since the cream does contain fragrance.

Experience
When I first tried it, I made a mistake by applying more than a pinch of cream. So it became hard for me to blend it in. The second time I tried it, I only used a pinch and that was more than enough. However, I still felt that it's hard to blend in. The cream builds up a white cast if it's not blended properly so it really takes time for the cream to completely absorb. The finish made my skin instantly toned up and dewy but I kinda felt my skin to be rather tight. It didn't feel that good, but to say it was drying, my skin didn't seem to feel that way. It somehow felt like a barrier, just like the feel when I use waterproof sunscreen.  This feeling made me look at the label again to see if this was Innisfree's Cherry Blossom Cream with SPF because they do have that and it's in the same packaging but it's not the one. This cream does not contain SPF.

However, after using this cream for over a week, I find that it doesn't feel that tight as it used to be after application. It stills gives a nice dewy finish after application but it does tend to feel like this cream has created a white barrier on my face. When touched, it does seem to be a bit sticky but it isn't so bad after sunscreen application. What I still cannot seem to like is the white cast, I need to really take time to rub in the cream if not it'll create ugly white patches when looked closely. What's important is that I didn't experience any irritation or bad reactions while and after application during this cream. My skin is also clear from acne so it doesn't trigger any acne either.

Overall Thoughts
Honestly, I'm not really a fan of tone-up creams, in fact, I've never really bought one at all. The tone up creams I've tried were all sent to me for review. I have never really cared about my skin tone and brightening my skin has never been a real concern to me. I still use brightening products but instant tone-up creams like this are not really my thing. The Innisfree Jeju Cherry Blossom Tone-up Cream does really tone up the skin, and it does it instantly too. I can't say the finish it creates looks very natural but it doesn't seem to look too odd if blended properly. I would suggest this cream to those who are looking for instant brightening but I won't be repurchasing this.
