REVIEW: PIXI ROSE-INFUSED SKINTREATS SKINCARE RANGE

24 October 2019

Hey guys, I have had this Pixi Rose Range for the longest time and my heart still bloom roses every time I see them. LOL... Pixi Beauty is known for its great skincare collections, they have so many and one of them is their Rose Infused collection which I have shared a lot through my social media. If you've been following me, you'll know that I have been posting about this range from time to time, so now I'm finalizing my reviews with a blogpost. Since I got a lot of questions about them, I'll write it down in this post. Keep on reading to know more.

There are a few products in Pixi's Rose Infused range so I'll be listing them down below. This is not gonna be a long post on my thoughts only, I'll be sharing about the details of the product as well. My mini-review on each product was written on an Instagram post which I've shared down below too. So before we go in any further, watch me unbox this beautiful PR package from Pixi Beauty and get a glimpse of the products they have sent me.

New Year, New Skin too! @pixibeauty seems to know it too when this came as a surprise on my doorstep. 😍😍😍 One thing over the years I learnt about skincare is hydration is the main key to healthy skin so choose your skincare wisely. Pixi sent me their newest rose-infused skintreats range and it's all about hydrating. I'm all pumped to start my hydration journey with them. ( Psstt.. I actually used it about a week now 😝) I'll tell you all about it later in another post. Here are the list of Rose-Infused products from Pixi: πŸ‘‰ Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloth πŸ‘‰ Rose Cream Cleanser πŸ‘‰ Rose Tonic πŸ‘‰ Rose Caviar Essence πŸ‘‰ Rose Flash Balm πŸ‘‰ Rose Ceramide Cream πŸ‘‰ Rose Oil Blend πŸ‘‰ Makeup Fixing Mist πŸ‘‰ Rose Glow Mist My vanity table sure is looking great with this range too, I hope it does the same to my skin too. πŸ˜… I'll keep you all updated on how it goes. Thank you Pixi Beauty for always being such a fairy. I can't describe how happy I am. #PixiBeauty #PixiSkinTreats #PixiRoseInfused

1. Rose Cream Cleanser
A daily cream cleanser made with mineral-rich mud for a nourishing cleanse.

'What it does:
Strengthen and soften your skin with every cleanse using the Rose Cream Cleanser from Pixi. A powerhouse of natural ingredients, it’s formulated with hydrating rose, conditioning avocado, can calming chamomile and aloe, as well as mineral-rich mud for a deep, yet refreshing clean.' (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Cream Cleanser
Price: RM95 (135ml)
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredients:
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Carthamus Tinctorius (Safflower) Seed Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Glycerin, Water/Aqua/Eau, Diatomaceous Earth/Solum Diatomeae/Terre de DiatomΓ©es, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Montmorillonite, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Squalane, Xanthan Gum, Kaolin, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Caprylyl Glycol, Chlorphenesin, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Disodium EDTA, Rosa Gallica Flower Powder, Triticum Vulgare (Wheat) Germ Oil, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Aniba Rosaeodora (Rosewood) Wood Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Cupressus Sempervirens Leaf/Nut/Stem Oil, Cymbopogon Schoenanthus Oil, Sodium Hyaluronate, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Mica, BHT, Linalool

My Thoughts:
I stopped using this cream cleanser after I experienced a serious breakout. Honestly, I don't really blame the cleanser itself as I didn't really do much research on the skincare regime I was using back then. Now I'm on different types of cleansers I'm still hesitating to use this again which I don't know why. The ingredients are not that bad, which includes Aloe Barbadensi, Safflower Seed Oil, Squalane and of course Rose Oil. This cleanser is basically a mixture of flowers and it smells good too. The texture is creamy mud-like which leaves a very refreshing feeling. I never experienced any dry skin after usage which seems good so probably I'll give my skin some more time before I start using this again.

2. Rose Tonic
A rose water-based toner that helps hydrate and neutralizes the skin.

'What it does:
Naturally soothing and rich in skin-loving nutrients, this tonic helps to tone, balance pH, minimize redness and calm the skin. Rose flower extract moisturizes and restores the skin while Elderflower gently tones and brightens, and chamomile and aloe vera soothe and calm the skin, minimizing redness.' (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Tonic
Price: RM70
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredient:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Rosa Damascena Flower Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium PCA, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethyl Citrate, Rose Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Rosa Canina Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Sambucus Nigra Flower (Elder Flower) Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Betaine, Sodium Citrate, Montmorillonite, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Ethylhexylglycerin, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Benzoate

My Thoughts:
Consist of Rose and Elderflower which acts as a nourishing toner and it's main ingredient consist of Damask Rose, a popular ingredient filled with antioxidants and help with anti-aging. I've already used up this Rose Tonic and it's almost similar to its famous Glow Tonic. However, I find my skin more suitable with the Glow Tonic and glycolic acid helps with inflammation and acne better. Anyhow, this Rose Tonic is very recommended for those with normal and dry skin, which helps a lot on boosting hydration.

3. Rose Caviar Essence
An encapsulated moisture serum to hydrate and restore the skin’s brightness.
Encapsulated flower oils suspended in a weightless serum-essence melt onto the skin to delivering fresh botanicals and essential moisture for an intense radiance boost. Formulated with antioxidant-rich natural oils, it softens, refines, and tones the skin.' (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Caviar Essence
Price: RM120
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredient:
Water/Aqua/Eau, Glycerin, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Cymbopogon Martini Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Simmondsia Chinenesis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Morus Alba Bark Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Caulerpa Lentillifera Extract, Bixa Orellana Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Adenosine, Illicium Verum (Anise) Fruit Extract, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Hydrogenated Soybean Oil, Tromethamine, Chlorphenesin,1,2-Hexanediol, Iron Oxide (CI 77491)

My Thoughts:
This stuff smells amazing! Exactly like fresh roses. When I first got this I loved using this in my routine. But when I had a breakout, I stopped using this but after going through their ingredients list once again, I feel I may want to give it a go again. I'm not totally sure if this was the reason for my breakout but it doesn't seem to be so. This essence contains various plant oils that have great properties such as Pelargonium Graveolens Oil that balances the production of sebum, Sunflower Seed Oil which provides anti-inflammatory effects also Graveolens Oil helps with acne scars. It's also infused with Vitamin E that helps the skin barrier. This essence is sure packed with antioxidants.
It contains small red particles inside which melts with the warmth of the fingers. I'm not exactly sure if that is rose petals because it doesn't really look like one. Anyhow, it does manage to absorb rather quickly.
I read quite a lot of reviews saying that this doesn't work much for them, I'm still in between because I'm rather unsure how it works on me but one thing I'm certain for sure, this essence doesn't really provide much hydration, so I'll always layer another moisturizer after. I'm still trying to finish this since I don't have the heart to waste it but I'll probably not be repeating this.

4. Rose Flash Balm
A 3-in-1 moisturizing balm that boosts radiance, acts as a primer and works as a revitalizing mask.

What it does:
The ultimate pick-me-up for dull, tired skin, Rose Flash Balm instantly brightens the skin. More than just a moisturizing radiance boost, the oil-free quick-absorbing formula works well as a revitalizing mask and primer to prep the skin for makeup, too. (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Flash Balm
Price: RM120
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredients:
Water/Aqua/Eau, Rosa Centifolia Flower Water, Propylene Glycol, Octyldodecanol, Tapioca Starch, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Stearate, Carbomer, Phenoxyethanol, Triethyl Citrate, Aminomethyl Propanol, Sucrose Cocoate, Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Extract, Rose Extract, Bisabolol, Ethylhexylglyercin, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Citrate, Red 40 (CI 16035)

My Thoughts:
This is said to be a 3-in-1 moisturizing balm that boosts radiance, acts as a primer, and works as a revitalizing mask. It's supposed to help with dull skin and acts to prep makeup too but it mostly contains emulsifying agents, preservatives and binding agents. I'm surprised myself after googling the ingredients one by one. LOL... The only active ingredients were Olive Leaf, Rose Extract and Witch Hazel which has great benefits to the skin but with the mixture of other ingredients, I'm not too sure to use this again. I somehow feel that this may have also been the cause of my breakouts before because it seems to be blocking pores but I'm not that sure. The texture is very thick and it does take time to absorb in the skin. I still have half to finish up, but I'll think I'll pass on this one.

5. Rose Ceramide Cream
An intensive moisturizer with rose oil for nourished, hydrated skin.
'What it does:
The richness of this rose-infused moisturizer is unrivaled by other beauty products. Your skin will receive an antioxidant boost that aims to improve its elasticity and protect it against daily wear and tear and environmental aggressors. Sleep peacefully in the knowledge that your skin is receiving the first-class treatment it deserves! Better yet, the rose oil leaves behind a lovely aroma.'  (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Ceramide Cream
Price: RM120
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredients:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Dipropylene Glycol, Glycerin, Dimethicone, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Poly (C6-14 Olefin), Hydrogenated Polydecene, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-20 Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Betaine, Hydroxyethyl Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Polysilicone-11, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Methyl Glucose Sesquistearate, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Sorbitan Stearate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Octyldodecanol, Dimethiconol, Butylene Glycol, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Ceramide NP, Polysorbate 60, Sorbitan Isostearate, Xanthan Gum, Citrus Aurantium Bergamia (Bergamot) Fruit Oil, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Portulaca Oleracea Extract, Rosmarinus Officinali (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Propanediol, Sucrose Cocoate, Dextrin, Disodium EDTA, Echium Plantagineum Seed Oil, Caramel, Centella Asiatica Extract, Lecithin, Phenoxyethanol, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Biosaccharide Gum-1, Cardiospermum Halicacabum Flower/Leaf/Vine Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Unsaponifiables, Polyglutamic Acid, Tagetes Minuta Flower Oil, Potassium Sorbate, Betula Alba Bud Extract, Corylus Avellana (Hazelnut) Bud Extract, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Leaf Extract, Olea Europaea (Olive) Bud Extract, Tocopherol.

My Thoughts:
Emptied this already and I swear its very moisturizing! I went through the ingredients in this product and I discovered Polyglutamic Acid. Turns out, this acid is 10 times moisturizing than Hyaluronic Acid, which we all thought was the best moisturizing agent ever. Turns out this acid has been around quite a while and beauty fanatics in the US are crazy over this ingredient. How come in Malaysia it hasn't been hyped yet.
Anyhow, I'm not sure how many % it is in this product as there's surely a lot of mixture of ingredients in this. Sorry, I'm no chemist but there's a lot of plant-based mixtures which some I'm familiar with such as Centella Asiatica Extract, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Bergamot Fruit Oil and much more with highly good benefits. I was attracted to use this again as this promotes Ceramide.
As I'm still in the process of healing my skin, I thought this should be a good option as ceramide is known for skin replenishing. It's suitable for breakout-out prone and oily skin too. Overall, this product promotes a boost in antioxidants that aims to improve skin elasticity and protects again environmental aggressors.
Already emptied this and I honestly love love love this! The scent that the rose oil leaves behind is just calming and puts me in a good mood too. I'll definitely be purchasing this again.

6. Rose Oil Blend
A powerful blend of skin-loving oils.
What it does:
This botanical blend is infused with a potent complex of youth-preserving oils to help improve skin's elasticity and glow. Sweet almond, rosehip, jojoba, pomegranate seed, and rose geranium oils nourish the skin, leaving your complexion feeling comforted and smooth to the touch. (Source Sephora Website)

Product: PIXI Rose Oil Blend
Price: RM120
Purchase: www.sephora.my
Ingredients:
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Rosa Damascena Flower Oil, Punica Granatum Seed Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil

My Thoughts:
Honestly, I'm still figuring out about face oils. I've used this earlier this year without any worries, but after reading of face oils, I got scared to put any oils on my face. Firstly, I'm worried if it's comedogenic, secondly, I'm not sure if I'm using it properly. Face oils do have its benefits I agree, even our skin naturally produces oil even our skin lacks oil. There's a reading that I found that face oils alone are not moisturizers. It should be accompanied by traditionally moisturizing ingredients like hyaluronic acid and glycerin. "A good moisturizer has to deliver both water and oil. Even Pixi suggests combining moisturizer and face oil together.
I still have a lot to learn about face oils honestly but I'm still hesitating to give this another try. I went through the ingredients and this Rose Oil blend is a mixture of natural plant oils and Vitamin E. All ingredients mostly contains antioxidants and anti-bacterial properties which should be good for my acne-prone skin but honestly, I still do worry that some ingredients may not react well with my skin. It's still oil and it's kinda risky don't you think?

7. Makeup Fixing Mist

Overall. this Rose Infused Skintreats from Pixi Beauty is worth the try, especially their Rose Tonic and Moisturizer. I really do recommend them. Sorry I left out my review on their mists, I'm planning to do a separate post on that, so once I do, I'll link it back here.
