Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream Hibiscus Review

Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream Hibiscus Review

Mamonde's Ceramide Light Cream is its key product for their Ceramide Hibiscus range. Their Ceramide Hibiscus range has been in the market for years now and it's still one of its bestselling range. I've happened to use it's light cream when it first launched.

So since I've been using the whole range for about a month now I think it's time to share my thoughts about this range. I've been eager to try the whole set ever since I finished my first tub of the light cream and it surely did leave a mark in my skincare journal. Now that I have been using the whole set, I feel like I could elaborate my thoughts better on this range and show you the results using them. I've been using Mamonde's Ceramide range as my morning routine as I felt like this range was a pretty could combination with my current night routine. Keep on reading to know more:

Before we go in detail for the product, let's get to know a bit about Ceramide and what it promotes. Ceramides are lipids that naturally occur in the skin. It's purposed to help the skin barrier and protect the skin from environmental stress. I've created a post to explain a bit more on Ceramide, which you can read here: WHAT IS CERAMIDE IN SKINCARE & WHAT TO KNOW ABOUT IT?

While the Hibiscus flower in skincare has a reputation to increase moisture and lock it within the skin. It's also known as a natural source of AHA's which purposes to exfoliate and control oil.

What is Mamonde's Ceramide Light Cream?

Mamonde describes it as a light cream that provides long-lasting hydration and helps fortify the skin moisture barrier. It's basically a daily moisturiser with a light texture that is suitable for those with oily and combination skin.

What Mamonde Claims on its Ceramide Light Cream

Refer mamonde.com

Similar to its Skin Softener and Skin Emulsion, the light cream basically helps with Skin Barrier and lock moisture. The difference should be again the texture of the products.

1. Powerful Hibiscus Moisture Barrier

Mamonde’s is said to have exclusively developed the Ceramide PC-104 ingredient which has twice the enhanced moisturizing effect from the ingredients of the hibiscus flower. It's aimed to strengthen the skin’s barrier which will result in delivering moisture to the deepest layers of the skin.

2. Double-Moisture Barrier

Its Double Moisture Barrier will reinforce the skin’s moisture support to ensure that it retains its deep and comforting moisture even over extended periods. So you wouldn't have to worry about dry skin.

3. Superior Moisture Barrier from the Foundation

This cream improves the skin moisture barrier that is usually affected by fine dust and other harmful environmental factors leading it to healthy skin over time. Which makes this cream superior from its very foundation.

4. Soft and Pleasant Texture

According to Mamonde, it contains a Lipid Networking System technology that delivers a non-sticky, moist formula. This will gently adhere and forms a comforting moisture barrier that feels no different from your own skin.

My Thoughts on Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream

Upon using this moisturizer again after years of my last use, I could say I'm still loving this light cream. No wonder Mamonde's Ceramide Light Cream is still one of Mamonde bestsellers even after years from its launch. I'm not sure if Mamonde has improved its formulation over the years but this moisturizer is worth the try. Looking into the ingredient list, as mentioned its core ingredient which is Ceramide and Hibiscus extract which is good for the skin barrier and locking moisture, it also includes Hyaluronic Acid and also Acetic Acid. Which triples the moisture and take cares of our pore problems too! It's like every a powerful moisturizer for the skin, but be careful for those with sensitive skin as the ceramide light cream does include artificial fragrance.

Packaging
Same as the other products in this range, it comes in an opaque jar but I feel like it should be better with a pump or a tube because ceramide is not a stable ingredient, it cannot be exposed to light and air or it will lose its effectiveness. The problem I see is that while scooping out the product, the unused products in the jar will be exposed to air and it ain't that hygienic as well. Because let's get real, scooping the product out with a finger is much easier and less the hassle to use a scooper. I'll hope they would upgrade their packaging like they did for their Intense Cream.

Texture
Extremely light texture, it's almost like their emulsion. Usually, moisturizers are thick since its the last basic step in a skincare routine but this one is very light but still provides great hydration. Since its light, its cream easily absorbs into the skin.

Scent-Wise
It has a very soft floral scent even though there is added fragrance in it. To compare the other products in this range, the skin softener has the strongest scent of all.

Experience
As expected, I didn't have any bad experience with this as I've used this before. No irritations or redness at all. Just instant smoothness and goodness to the skin.

Overall Thoughts

As I mentioned above, I used the ceramide range as my daily day skin routine to complement my night skin routine which was focused on healing while the ceramide range was to strengthen the skin barrier, so I think that it complements each other for my skin routine. And it indeed proves strong results after a few weeks comparing my before and after skin after using these products.

Mamonde Ceramide Light Cream is a very good cream, to begin with, if you're looking into adding ceramide in your skincare. It's packed with good ingredients in a jar and it works! Well for me though. Just make sure you always add sunscreen afterwards, if not anything you put on your skin will just go to waste. I highly recommend the Mamonde creams as this brand uses ingredients based on flowers, you won't have to worry about there artificial animal substances. It's also proven that Mamonde Ceramide range has managed to get halal certification from Malaysia since last year. (I received a press release on this)

Honestly from Mamonde's ceramide range, I feel like the ceramide light cream is strong enough to stand on its own without having to add its emulsion and skin softener. Probably the emulsion and skin softener could be used with other creams but if you're already using the light cream, it should be good enough alone to get that skin barrier protected. That's how I feel even after using it for the second time. Mamonde's Intense Cream is another story, I'll share my thoughts on it soon.

Overall, it's a good cream and it's a must-try for those who haven't.
