My Thoughts on AXIS-Y Quinoa Gel Cleanser
Swipe left for more pictures:I've been a long fan of AXIS-Y products ever since I've tried out their serum and toner. During that time I was going through a rough hormonal acne issue and AXIS-Y were among the products that helped my skin healed. You can read my past review on how it worked on me during that time which was roughly 3 years ago.
I was offered by AXIS-Y official team to try their whole range recently and of course, it got me jumping. I've been loving their products and also bought a few of their new products from time to time, but I didn't write reviews because I didn't have time for it. So since AXIS-Y sent me their whole range, of course, you can expect full detailed reviews of their products coming from me soon.
I've been eager to try again how it works on my skin now and somehow it came at the right time. I've been having quite a rough patch these couple of weeks and my skin was also affected because I wasn't taking proper care of it. So yes, acne came back but my actions are to blame as I wasn't doing my proper routine.
So since last week, I started taking care of my skin again with AXIS-Y products, so let's see the changes. We'll start with my review of their Quinoa One Step Balanced Gel Cleanser.
Ingredients
Looking into the full list ingredients of AXIS-Y Quinoa One Step Balanced Gel Cleanser, it's key ingredients are Centella Asiatica, Quinoa, Calendula, Green Tea, Sweet Almond Oil, Humulus Lupulus and Holy Basil which are all plant-based ingredients. AXIS-Y promises Vegan, Paraben Free, Mineral Oil Free, No Artificial Fragrances & Colours and also Cruelty-Free products.
Packaging
Perfect! I hope they maintain this packaging because it's simple and neat. It comes in a see-through hard plastic bottle, waterproof sticker label and an easy pump. It pumps out just nicely without spurting out the liquid. The bottle provides English description at the front but Korean at the back. However, the box does contains English labels and instructions. I still find this a hassle because we mostly just keep the bottle and sometimes we tend to forget what's inside especially the ingredients. For me, the INCI list should always be labelled on the bottle.
Texture
It's a gel cleanser hence it's in a form of gel, not that thick and not that runny. Just nice in between which makes it just the right texture for a pump. When applied with water, it creates a nice amount of light foam to wash your face with. I use it with a cleaning device and it does produce foam with it too, just not as much with rubbing it together with your palms. For me, the texture is good and it washes off easily too.
Scent-Wise
It has a very nice light sweet scent. Looking into the INCI list it doesn't use any artificial fragrances so this is totally a win!
Experience
My skin doesn't tend to react much with cleansers but if judging the effectiveness it does do a good job in cleaning out oil and impurities. However, it does tend to dry the skin after a wash, so after cleansing, I make sure to pat my skin dry and instantly put on toner afterwards.
It also does claim to wash out makeup which it does but not 100% perfect, I suggest to still use a cleansing balm or an oil cleanser before using this Quinoa Cleanser to remove makeup especially if you have a full coverage foundation on.
Overall Thoughts
Since it's a gel cleanser, it should work great for oily and acne-prone skin. I don't have much to say on their cleanser except that it does do its work but look forward to my upcoming reviews as I'll show you my before and after pictures using AXIS-Y's whole range for the past week.
